Jim Dalrymple (friend and podcasting partner) has long complained about his HomePods and Siri. For years.

I am now there. No matter what I do, my HomePod will no longer recognize me.

To be clear, I can ask Siri to play music, and the HomePods sound great.

But ask HomePod Siri to add bananas to the shopping list, say, and I get a sequence like:

SIRI: Who is speaking?
DAVE: Dave
SIRI: I can't do that.

There are many variants. None of them fruitful.
