That isn't an ideal UX. Plenty of people add language and input methods for languages that they are learning and they don't understand it otherwise. You really need options within the app for this sort of thing. Machine translation is very inexact and error prone so you really need people to opt-in and make it easy to switch on/off so the user knows exactly what is going on.
