This is absurd. I have no conceptual problem with affordable housing in Beverly Hills, where I’ve spent a lot of my life. I’d welcome it in fact. But in practical terms…let’s put it this way. Beverly Hills is 5 square miles surrounded by similar neighborhoods under no similar mandate because most—Bel-Air, Holmby Hills, Brentwood, Los Feliz, Pacific Palisades, etc—are in the City of Los Angeles. Something like 500 square miles with far more practical opportunities for creating affordable housing.
