There are rare gems, but you're right. Primitive Technology (one of the first YouTube Bushcraft guys) started his videos as a passion project on someone else's land, allegedly because he was interested in it. People liked it and asked for more content and he setup a patreon and did it, to the point where he bought land and now does what amounts to modern archeological reenactment and wrote a book on the stuff he's learned.
