I don't know enough about federal prosecutions to know how much latitude the judge has to impose home detention in lieu of jail or whether that's up to the Bureau of Prisons.
But as much as I'd love to see Trump in a suit matching his skin tone, I really want accountability and the fact of a felony conviction above all else.
My greater concern for the trial is that Cannon (1) ultimately delays the trial until after the election (The August placeholder date won't stick), or (2) excludes government evidence, allows Trump to introduce bogus evidence and defenses like declassification, and otherwise issues pretrial rulings which kneecap the prosecution case.
