Riding the Wind
On a rainy morning, I stood on the tenth floor window sill, looking at the mountains in the distance ,the clouds in the sky, the golden spires of the exhibition hall, and the gray office buildings.
Above the light blue clouds, the faint white light of the sky shone through, and a damp smell was carried by the wind in the air. There weren't many people or cars on the road yet. Occasionally, I saw a few pedestrians with umbrellas hurrying to work through the dense leaves of the trees on the roadside. I heard the clear announcement of a bus from far away. My thoughts began to gradually scatter, falling apart piece by piece.
I saw my body leaning forward 30 degrees, with the air flow smoothly rising between me and the earth, slowly pulling away from the rows of buildings below. The shadow projected on the building platform gradually grew larger, and my limbs extended horizontally. I was like a giant water fern growing rapidly in the air. I lost my direction and struggled to control the wind.
I rode the wind, ascending higher and higher. The faster the air flow, the more my body transformed into a huge kite. I couldn't go any higher, nor could I go above the clouds, because my paper-thin body was easily torn apart by the wind. The edge of my body was violently shaking, and some parts were curled up by the wind. I couldn't get too close to the ground either, because sometimes the stagnant air on the ground made me lose buoyancy and fall down.
I drifted freely at the right height, sometimes going south with the north wind, sometimes going north with the south wind. I flew over many cities, drifted over silver islands, drifted over golden coastlines, and drifted over the straits where schools of fish swam. Sometimes I stayed in one place for a long time, feeling the flow of high-altitude air, quietly looking at the earth below, listening to the sound of the entire river, and watching rainwater fall from the treetops in the entire forest. Sometimes I encountered strange phenomena. My giant ears heard singing, heavenly music, past and future, and souls. My giant eyes saw the secrets of the earth, prophecies, the palm of Buddha, somersault clouds, and the true man of Taiyi.
Suddenly, I felt my neck itching, and soon a cloud wrapped a scarf around me, making me feel warm.
