Simon Tatham (nprofile…jxjc) I think that sourcehut is almost close to being the best of both worlds, except for the fact that afaik it's (still?) not the easiest thing ever to self-host (I don't think I know anybody who is actually doing it, and the last time I looked into it I stopped at the fact that there doesn't seem to be even unofficial deb packages anymore)
OTOH, one big advantage of sourcehut is having mailing lists where things happen in public while using an email based workflow, so one might as well “just” self-host some other mailing list software.
The CI is another nice thing, and I don't know whether there are other *lightweight* CI systems that are easy to integrate with plain git repositories (if somebody knows of them, I'd be glad to hear! even better if it's in debian :) )
