We have the first fire in the fireplace of this winter, and I’ve finally done the symbolic thing I’ve been wanting to.

I had a bunch of notebook pages on which I’d been scribbling the things that keep me up at 2am (things that worry me in various ways), and today I put them onto the fire and watched them go up in flames.

The scribbling definitely helps me let go of those worries. I don’t know if burning the written lists will help, but it was surely satisfying.
