The genre, not the recent (ish) game. It's not everyone's cup of tea, and I get that. In fact, I applaud it!
But the thing is, the entire modality of the structure is dystopian, hypercapitalist, and has a veneer that is coming off.
There isn't a bright side. The best it gets is hope in the face of defeat. Inherently, the structure demands failure and unwinnable situations, unchanging uncaring lords.
If you want cheer, try solarpunk!
