Thank you, I appreciate it. I have the same overall feelings you do about secularist Jews. I've been thinking about writing something up on the subject, but there are vanishingly few people who would care what I'd have to say on the subject. But tldr: there have been hundreds and thousands of years of tribalism across the entire world, and some groups (including many Jews, and others as well) still believe the best path forward is tribalism, based on the assumption that you can't trust other groups.

Liberalism today is a corrupted term by progressives. But in its original meaning, liberalism was the philosophy that founded America and underlies meritocracies and capitalism. It says we can all agree to not use force on each other, treat each other with civility, and stop trying to control everyone else. Those of us who were raised with that philosophy have a hard time understanding why so many people are insistent on reverting to group-based tribalism.
