I've previously tooted about the program for free #COVID #COVID19 tests via private health insurance and Medicare coming to an end on May 11th. But if you live in #washington, #minnesota , or #wisconsin and want to stock up, your state's health department also makes available free tests to you at https://sayyescovidhometest.org/. This program, like the other program, will be ending on May 11th.

A few months ago, Washington State started restricting program eligibility to certain lower-income zip codes. But now the Department of Health is heavily publicizing this deadline and that about 85% of Washington's zip codes remain eligible ... so I guess they have plenty and want you to have them?

Anyway, it doesn't hurt to check your zip code at https://sayyescovidhometest.org/ and see if you are eligible. The whole ordering process is quick and easy.

Relatedly, I know some people have had concerns about the short expiration dates on tests they've gotten through various programs. Just a reminder that the expiration dates for many tests have been extended. You can check your iHealth expiration dates here: https://ihealthlabs.com/pages/news#expiration and your Abbott expiration dates here: https://www.fda.gov/media/158003/download. The FDA has information about test expirations (buried about 10 paragraphs down) here: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests
