if you're teaching a small child to ski, good belt loops are essential, imo. you can tie a nice loose rope around their waist, then clip a tow rope to slow them down from behind when they're descending. If you have climbing skins you can clip pull them up. Climbing is really great because gives them a lot of time to learn how their skis work. Use a section of bungee to reduce jerking
