tangential earworms come in two varieties, there's the kind where you hear something and it reminds you of something, but you only partly remember it so it sort of sits there nagging you for ages even though you can only remember a bit of it.
the other kind is when you get a regular earworm but you never get to the end of it because a secondary residual earworm takes over and carries on like a bad mashup.
