Warm air vs. cooler air, ventilation.

Is there some kind of a barrier, similar to an air pressure area, where air only leaks in one direction? Assuming no wind.

There are no ventilation systems inside apartments in Iceland. I like it cold, so I'm probably releasing my "expanding?" cold air into the fire escape and hallways.

I moved the litter box into a warmer room (for plants) and they say the smell dissapeared. With window cracked.

So, the cold(er) air was coming in a window slot, directly over the kitty litter box. Then, everytime I opened my front door, I could feel the vaccum pulling my air into the hall.

So I'm guessing heat sucks at the cold. My smells are the only ventilation source.

And the air was coming from right above a cat pooping place.

Is there math for this?
