I’m not an expert on the NHS, but I do know that it is a lot faster to dismantle an institution, than to rebuild one. Especially if it requires new doctors to be trained, since that takes about a decade.
I get that the average voter doesn’t think like that, and that the press will wilfully ignore it, but it’s just to say that they do have an uphill battle, even if it was their only priority, and they were willing to spend every last pound on it, day one.
