I'll definitely try to open some doors for such a task to ease it, i.e. not actually requiring FCGI at all and offloading it to say, Pleroma, would genuinely be a nice approach to that. Go would actually make that somewhat challenging for me, so even sticking to C (hey, it works) but offering some extra FFI stuff to make it easier for such a task... what do you think of that? Shit data out, get content in, but use an FFI library.... this could at least remove the FastCGI overhead for you. Treebird handles the rest, etc etc. Of course, you have to trust that the Pleroma module wouldn't clog up waiting for a response from Treebird, so not sure how you'd recommend I accomplish this.
I don't personally encourage you to write some crazy FCGI wrapper (or even use a library for that) when I'd imagine I could just open the doors for you a little bit...
