I have been wondering whether bloodletting with leeches was actually effective as a treatment of vascular postviral illnesses and that is why they continued doing it for thousands of years all over the world. Sometimes ancient practices worked even if they did not understand why they worked.
Does anyone know whether there were #LongCovid like illnesses that bloodletting was used for?
