If happiness arises from problem solving, then is the problem with humanity our collective desire to solve problems, leading to fleeting moments of "happiness"? Is the desire for "happiness" the karma of unending suffering?
I would propose that joy and contentment are both attainable as permanent states of Being, and are therefore fulfilling in and of themselves. They can exist without happiness, or a desire for happiness. Both joy and contentment arise from peace, which is the innate state and essence of Being.
The issue I take with continued technological progression is, "to what end?" If joy and contentment are innate and therefore ever present, at what point is "enough" enough?
There appears to be as many, if not more, problems in the world today than ever before. Happiness appears scarce, suffering appears abundant... Maybe the answer to humanities collective problems is less "doing" in the pursuit of happiness and progress, and simply more Being?
Maybe #bitcoin fixes this when humanity achieves a low enough time preference that we can all take a collective knee and a long deep breath and appreciate the awe and wonder that is Present Moment Awareness...
