For those wondering, "How is it that we can commemorate D-Day and the fight against fascism and yet have fascists elected?" Because if you actually take in the opinions of members of the far right, it becomes clear. For example, here in Britain, a lot of right-wingers don't actually mind fascism, as long as it's wrapped in a Butcher's Apron. For them, the Second World War was about "fighting Germans" and "demonstrating that the British are good at fighting."
