I was trying to explain a little bit to my sister how class is viewed differently in the UK to the US and she just couldn’t get it. I don’t know why it’s so beyond so many Americans because we have class prejudices too, we just think it’s acceptable to hate the poor and a majority of American churches seem to be founded on the idea that poor people deserve to be poor because God made them so.
