Yeah, I think you don't understand my article at all.
It has nothing to do with exchange rate swaps; what my article proposes is completely orthogonal to that trick.
My point is that the sender doesn't need to validate whether or not any intermediary channel along the route is real at all, and that makes client side validated tokens much more feasible to use for lightning than people expect.
