"content": "#Amida Nyorai Statue, Saisho-ji, Shiga Prefecture, #Japan. The temple was founded in 1494 by Shinmori, the founder of the Tendai Shinmori sect. The statue is made of #Japanese cypress wood with a jeweled eye inlay. A colophon inside the statue reveals that it was created in 1203. During the heyday of the Kei school, it became the antithesis and standard work of #Kyoto #Buddhist sculptors.\n#BuddhistArt #Buddhism\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/426/851/009/714/855/original/1e5404689f079a35.jpg\n",
