Is it really necessary for the means of production to be owned collectively? If companies pay their staff equitably and are open and honest about consultation relating to any changes would that be acceptable?
They would have to be environmentally responsible as well.

How do new companies get formed if collective ownership is required?

There are companies that do not fit the grim capitalist template that do well. Rolex is a surprising example.
