I just got a lovely call from the rabbi assigned to my mom’s new hospice team. The conversation turned to Israel, and one again I’m always impressed with how many Jews can deplore Hamas and want then erased, while still being passionately empathetic to the plight of the mostly innocent Palestinians. He’s been out raising money for victims on both sides. I’m an atheist, but have much respect genuine humanitarians.
