All public goods apart from the most essential to keep things running would wither away in time if government went away with a snap of fingers. While a lot of government waste would naturally go away with its sponsor, so would a lot of economic opportunity that arises from a high provision of collective goods. I do not believe that benevolent billionaires would be both capable and willing to provide the common and collective services that we take for granted, certainly not with with the predominant mindsets of today.
