- ability to type nonascii characters (choosing and configuring an input method that works for you)
- ability to display nonascii characters, from other languages to color emojis
- ability to rescale terminal contents on the fly, like when I switch from my desktop monitor to the laptop screen, or when I give a talk and need to make something more readable to the audience
