To my understanding #Viewport in the #YouTube debug info means the actual resolution that the browser uses for playing back this video.
Funnily when full screen FullHD, this is not #FullHD. Because on a 15,6" display on your Laptop on #Linux you would turn on some GUI scaling in #KDE. Otherwise everything would be way too small for your old eyes.
So no matter what browser, #Chrome, #Brave, #Firefox – on #Ubuntu / #UbuntuStudio #Linux 24.04 you never watch your FullHD videos in actual FullHD.
So if you're a video editor and your videos don't look sharp on YouTube… check this first.
I did not find any way to work around this.
I'm praying this does not hold for VLC, since it would make the entire machine useless as a pro video player.
On my old #Kubuntu 18.04, Firefox ignores the GUI scaling… so it was either annoying ads and FullHD (Firefox) or not FullHD and no ads (Brave). Now it's always not FullHD.
(And do check out the music, they're fantastic musicians: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXIe5R6lv4c )
