NIP 05 had always been a technical way to kinda prove a person's identity, but scammers could still just create a random npub, register on a domain, and get that check mark. But were these "females" really who they said were?

Then TheNoshole (npub1ymt…pxnz) post a pic of herself and in jest, ObjectiF MooN⚡️₿ (npub1mpz…0pxm) questions whether she was, in fact, female:

People that know me in real life or maybe have been following me here on #nostr know that I'm a big troll. I'm pretty proud of it to be honest. Life's too short to take it too seriously. I ask TheNoshole (npub1ymt…pxnz) to post a pic with shoe on head knowing that she's prolly game for some shenanigans, and she graciously does

A few days later, Iancarroll (npub1xr7…2gqh) comes to #nostr and brings along with him new #nostriches. The time was ripe to push #shoeonhead. Quite honestly, anyone could just have posted a picture with timestamp to verify they were saying who they were but where's the fun in that?

I wait for Derek Ross (npub18am…p424) to quote newbies' introductions and aggressively push verifying their identify by posting a shoe on their head (if for nothing more than sh!ts and giggles). #Plebs naively comply and the rest they say is history

Shoutout to the big npubs that gave #shoeonhead visibility by posting shoes on their head, y'all are the real MVPs
