There's a pretty high burn out rate for psych nurses, but all nurses are overworked and underpaid/underappreciated.

I agree that everyone is different and that is part of what makes assessing suicidal or any behavioural issues so difficult. I've had friends with almost self destructive tendencies but I wouldn't have thought them suicidal. Eg, one did actually die speeding on a motorcycle...
