Well i just call them multiplying onions, dont have a technical name for them. I love them because i can have green onions year round, as much as i want. They are super easy to propagate, just dig up a small clump of bulbs and replant wherever you want. Super hardy. But i've never heard of potato onions, not familiar with those.
