picked up some groceries at Publix yesterday. their tag line is "where shopping is a pleasure"
compare this to Walmart's "save money - live better"
who are they kidding ? everybody who shops at Walmart is miserable.
Publix does have a premium air to it - for example the checkout lanes are not physically connected to the exit - i almost exited the store accidentally with a full cart of groceries without paying because i couldn't find the checkout lanes but then i saw them and the cashiers were giving me dirty looks for trying to walk out without paying so i came back and paid
that kind of open field layout certainly feels premium compared to prison complex layout of budget supermarkets
had an actual white man cashier and i do not mean a teenager or a senior
not quite Whole Foods where they literally have blonde model chicks at checkout but a step up from entry level for sure
