Yeah modern banking both relies on and promotes growth. It know makes sense to lend money if you believe you'll get more in the future than you give up today.

I *think* modern banking and negative interest rates could combine to still incentivize investment without requiring endless growth, but folks far smarter than me would need to figure out how to do it while avoiding collapsing the whole system.

Regardless, modern banking is currently a problem and is unsustainable.
