My elderly mother refuses to use Libbyapp on her iPad, which would allow her to download ebooks and audiobooks for free from her local library, because she doesn’t want to have to use her email address to set up her library membership online. She’s afraid her library will then start spamming her email account with “announcements” about upcoming events. I explained that public libraries don’t maintain e-mail marketing lists.
