翠星石 (npub1x2v…ar98) It is not true that one just turns off JavaScript in their browser and everything works fine. Without JavaScript most modern web sites do not function at all. You can’t login, you can’t do even the most basic actions. It is true that one can make a site that works perfectly well without JavaScript. But that’s not the same thing.
Tor browser is not some magic solution, either. Because again many web sites take a really dim view of Tor exit node addresses. So many web sites will force a CAPTCHA or simply refuse to talk to a Tor exit node.
I can’t imagine that you actually follow the advice you’re giving. If you do, then you couldn’t possibly be shopping online, banking online, paying taxes online, etc. Because the average government department in the US or the UK simply doesn’t work without JavaScript turned on and an IP address in the right country. Ditto for online stores and banks. This hopelessly impractical advice is a waste of time for most people.
