Following a week of heightened military activity and tense rhetoric between Pakistan and India, U.S. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio plans to contact his counterparts in both countries, possibly as early as today or tomorrow, urging restraint and de-escalation. The State Department also appealed to the international community to step in as mediators to help defuse tensions between the two South Asian powers.
