Cost of Living Crisis? Move to Mexico or Thailand for a year(s)
I keep seeing posts about cos of living crisis in Europe and US and many places where cost of living has always been high and is getting higher.
Digital Nomad or remote lifestyle means you can move to where the costs are low but keep your high developed world wage.
Consider moving to Mexico, for eg Oaxaca City, or Thailand, Chiang Mai for a year to work remotely in your current job but from a cheaper destination.
Obviously this is a difficult transition to make for many but easier if you are single or couple with no kids.
I can personally recommend Oaxaca City and Chiang Mai as potential spots as they are both very cheap and safe (certain parts of Oaxaca City are not but plenty are near downtown and tourist areas so shop around).
Previously I wrote a post here talking about the cost of living in Chiang mai where one person can easily get by for $750 p/month USD or even less depending on your particular lifestyle. I suspect you could do it for around $500 if you lived in a not so nice place and cooked a fair amount.
