Finding a sample of the St. Joseph Bible was more of a struggle than I expected it to be. Of these two, I'd say that they're both fairly straightforward and easy to read translations. The RSV2CE seems to preserve rather more of the language of the Bible as it was first written whereas the St. Joseph (NCB) prefers to add more to these passages, seemingly for the purpose of making the passages more clear.
I don't believe you should find fault with either translation. But they are very different. The RSV2CE is more strictly a translation of the Bible whereas the St. Joseph (NCB) is more like a guided tour of the Bible.
The NCB has obnoxious formatting issues in Psalms. Lots of nice interior illustrations though.
