the dumb thing is they may not know it runs afoul of any regulations until it gets noticed, but maybe only a lawyer could answer that for sure. OEMs seem to keep things like Eurion and MIC hush hush, it's hard to tell if it's voluntary on their part or a legal requirement. We probably wouldn't even know about them except that people noticed and investigated.
