Still seeing a lot of incorrect information being repeated about this, so at the risk of being piled on once again:
The general election candidates for the major parties (D & R) are designated in every state AFTER their respective conventions, which have not yet occurred this year. That's the main procedural purpose of the conventions.

It becomes much more complicated to change a party's ticket later on.
