having a handful of hair ties on my keychain or wrist has been a 1000x ultra super duper helpful tool. obviously mostly use them to tie my hair up but also every time i want to quickly keep cables together, loosely close a bag, or whatever else that requires tying and has an open end. they are so plentiful and cheap that i really really dont care if they snap or get left behind.
