I've been calling old school friends, people from old jobs. I let them know how worried I am about what is happening to the country. I let them know that I'm scared for myself, my neighbors, my students if the country keeps lurching to the right. I talk about family who are in danger. About the hate crimes that have touched people I know. I say that I'm reaching out to everyone I know to let them know how important it is to me.
It's exhausting but I think its the most effective thing I can do.
