This is going to start being relevant within the next year, so I'm going to bring it up because it's worth knowing about.
Trump is currently firing a bajillion government employees. This is something that a lot of government agencies expected in 2016...and this led to a hiring freeze, coupled with mass layoffs. Trump never cut budget, and as a result there were a lot of government agencies who were *desperately hiring* in late 2017/early 2018.
Elon and Trump are about to cut federal agencies down to the point where they're understaffed. I expect one of two possible outcomes:
1) Elon/Trump work the fedbois like they're in a Tesla factory. Fedbois realize pretty fast they can do better in industry - even by picking strawberries for a living - and we end up with near-empty government agencies.
2) Elon/Trump realize they fucked up and engage in a federal hiring blitz in about a year.
Of those, 2) is far more likely.
