if anything, over the last 15yrs, the white capitalists have been focused on getting everyone to exit real life and use social media. it cuts them off from their friends and family, makes them much easier to manipulate, and makes it much harder to push back on propaganda messaging because each user lives in an individual algorithmic bubble that is difficult to penetrate.
