Your point is a very good one, and perhaps I shouldn't be so glib about saying I wanted to slay an interesting animal. Here in NZ we take for granted that we've got to do all we can to get the numbers of these pest mammals down. It's not their fault that they're here though, and we need to do this as ethically as we can. (The trap I'm using, a DOC200-type trap, is called the DOC200 because it was designed and is used by our Department of Conservation.)
