I tried loading 185 for the first set just so I could see if I could handle the load. Increased to 195 except I could lift at first. I noticed something weird with how I've been doing presses. It's hard to explain but I was using my arms only to lift. And I soon realized you can get way more leverage if you use your back and shoulders to push into the bench to get you started. And then it became easier. My last set on the bench (I do 5x5) I only hit for so next time I'll probably do volume 195 or 185.
I did the following. Eat rice, beans, chicken, veggies, creatine and a sports drink 30 minutes before, did a cardio warm up 5 minutes each stairs, treadmill, bike, then dynamic stretches arms and legs, then got to lifting by the time the carbs started getting burned. I can see a blue vein in my hand between my thumb and wrist now.
