I use Gavin Newsom as a positive example for my dyslexic daughter of what can be achieved. How it doesn't have to be limiting.
Gavin Newsom is severely dyslexic. For public speaking, he studies so he can talk off the cuff, without a teleprompter. He can't read a script so he studies instead. A 10 minute speech is 10 hours of studying the topic, about an hour per minute of speech.
This video, Gavin being interviewed by a 12 year old with #dyslexia, really helped my daughter understand that dyslexia doesn't mean she is dumb, no matter what some teachers imply. It is a disability, but with the right supports you can do anything.
