Last time a UK election was held in July was in 1945. It was the first election for ten years, and the only wartime election. But the difference back then was that the Labour Party was popular with popular policies. Attlee had come from a right-wing background but had gone out to find out about conditions in the country (which Starmer & Blair never did).
The Attlee Government of July 1945 went on to create the Nstional health Service, build 1.6 million new homes, Nationised energy companies and public transport, ensured pensions for all and restarted the country afresh after 6 years of war. His biggest mistake was sending troops to Americas Korean War, which I suspect was done to allow loans from America to rebuild the UK after the war.
Churchill won his only election as leader of the Tories in 1951, but with a million fewer votes that Labour because of our First Past the Post Electoral System.
Sadly, the Labour Party was taken over by 5th columnists who would never have been in Keir hardies Government or Clement Attlees Government. Now it's no longer about public service, it's about building a career and being in it for the grift.
Vote for those socialist Independents (not the Workers Party who pretend to be socialists) or if you don't have one, vote Green in next Thursdays General Election.
