First, when electrical and chemical activity ceases in my nervous system, there will be an alteration in my consciousness. Whether that alteration will be a cessation or a transition to a new state I have insufficient data to determine.
Second, when that alteration occurs, either I will have evidence that the answer is “No, consciousness does not terminate” or, if it does terminate, I will no longer exist to care about the answer.
