Does anybody here have experience with using a hosting service to set up a private Mastodon instance? I want to create a community that can use existing Mastodon apps, but has classed membership and isn’t (necessarily) federated as a general social media service. Kinda like a modern BBS.
masto.host looks like the most turnkey hosting service, but they have so little documentation I can’t tell if they would be a good choice for this.
