“Direct Scala” may become a thing, alternatives being:
‣ Ox, JVM-only, which probably precludes an ecosystem around it;
‣ Gears, very promising, perpetually experimental, can't support ScalaJS yet;
‣ Dotty-cps-async, the best option if it were part of the language, IMO.
These options are cool, but when directing newbies to them, they'll naturally wonder — why not just use Kotlin because their coroutines are miles ahead, and work on top of JS, Wasm GC or Native.
Or, why not Java 21+?
